Vessels are usually designed to operate worldwide across a wide span of conditions. But most vessels don’t permanently sail in areas with high seawater temperatures, so the full-load capacity of the cooling system is rarely required. Similarly, many other onboard systems are designed for full-load operation yet only randomly used to that capacity.
